The colors! The scenery! The couple! Christopher + Stephanie clearly knew what they were doing as much as they may deny it. I mean, look at them fitting so seamlessly in every part of the lovely Harkness Memorial State Park! The foliage, the marble, INSIDE the water; you name it and they owed it.
As you scroll down, does it look like we’ve just photographed a royal wedding? Yeah we thought so too. Although Casey + Cassandra aren’t technically royalty they sure got in front of our camera as if they were and we were not complaining. Their venue can definitely take some credit for this effect. If you’re getting married at Rosecliff Mansion you can only expect to feel like you’re in some sort of fairy tale. Along with about every other detail, this day couldn’t have been more picture perfect (which is all we could ask for). So, we were obviously more than head over heels for their gallery. Its not often we go on somewhat of a road trip with our team for a wedding but we took on this day with much anticipation. Shooting in a new venue quite a ways from our home base, we didn’t know what to expect but, in the end, we couldn’t be happier with the turn out. The minute we met both Spiros and Bianca we knew they were going to be a down to earth couple that were gonna click so well with our team. You know the stress that comes with wedding days? It’s not often we shoot weddings on an Island but when we do it looks a little something like this. Bright bold colors, the sea, and a blue vintage Toyota Land Cruiser to match. Tom + Lauren really knew how to make their big day their own and we had the pleasure of being able to capture it all. Tying the knot with hundreds of sail boats passing by on the beautiful Block Island horizon was just one of the memorable details about this wedding. And there was something about both Tom and Lauren’s contagious smiles that had us delighted to be there and enjoy every second of shooting. We would take that ferry over and over again!

First Look: The Elms Mansion
We did Josh + Alexandria’s engagement photos (pre-pandemic) at Beavertail in Jamestown, RI - a great spot for engagement pics. Getting the opportunity to work with the couple prior to the wedding is a game changer. You already have a rapport and it’s like seeing an old friend, vs. just showing up having never met, I think this is really important.
If you ever wonder what it’s like to work with us, we have a very specific process on how we go about shooting the day. When we first arrive - we will check in on hair and make up, h/mu is something that we shoot very briefly once make up is complete. While the bride and her bridesmaids are getting ready we look for places to shoot the dress and all the details and Alexandria had a lot of them! This is a good thing, especially when it comes to video as it really adds a creative element.
Once we wrap with details we will go shoot groom prep (as long as it at the same location, if it’s not we recommend a separate photo/video team in order to capture it). For groom prep we have a very specific shot list that we want to capture and then we will get some of those candids of the boys ;)
The light for this day was magical, as you can see from the photos below. You don’t always get a perfect lighting scenario and overcast is always better than a bright sunny day, but Alexandria timed her ceremony to be just a few hours before sunset which allowed the sun to be going down while they said “I Do” but enough time after to get all their group shots, family photos and portraits.
There was never one point in the day where we felt rushed for time! Everything was accounted for as far as timing which really helps the day feel seamless. The couple chose to go with our Classic look, MMC1 - if you want something like this please reach out!
