This past weekend, our wedding photography team bundled up and made the journey to Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine for our most recent adventure! We braved the brisk winter breeze and caught some romantic golden hour beach photos for this surprise engagement session! This wasn’t your average wedding proposal, but this wasn’t your average couple either! It was such an honor to photograph one of our own team members, Josh, as he proposed to his fiancé, Lizzie! After Chuck and Kristin’s dramatic, stunning engagement session with their lead engagement session photographer, Tiahna, we were beyond excited to reunite with this Arizona-based couple for their glamorous summer wedding at the Newport Officers Club in Newport, Rhode Island! Chuck and Kristin purchased the Deluxe wedding photography and wedding videography package, which includes one wedding videographer and two wedding photographers! Thanks to our team, we were able to start the day in two different getting ready locations: the Homewood Suites, and Hotel Viking! After our bride and groom tied the knot at Saint Lucy’s Church in Middletown, RI, the bride and groom, and bridal party were whisked away to explore the town with their photographers and videographer before celebrating at their beautiful reception! The RAW Truth

So What is RAW Footage?

We get it all the time. In fact, it’s one of our most frequently asked questions! We include RAW footage in all of our wedding videography packages, but what is it anyways?

Simply put, RAW footage is a digital copy of every file our video team has captured from the day! No color correcting, no trimming or editing, just straight out of the camera! These files can range from a 10 second shot of your invitations to a 20 minute angle from your wedding ceremony! It’s a great way to have an archive of your big day, and preserve candid moments with loved ones! If a family member passes or there are a few shots that didn’t make the cut for the highlight film, you will still have these clips preserved for you to enjoy! The amount of files you receive depends on the length of the day and the number of videographers that were filming that day!

Now it is important to note: having all of your RAW footage does NOT necessarily equate to having a full-length version of your ceremony! Typically when we shoot our wedding ceremonies we keep one camera in the back with a wide angle to catch all of the action, but unfortunately we aren’t able to control guests blocking the angle or bumping into the tripod legs! Additionally, since the RAW footage is delivered in additional clips, any other angles of the ceremony would have to be watched separately!

To resolve this, we offer edited ceremony and speech films for our couples as an add on to their package! In doing this, we intercut all of camera angles together so you can see the best angles at the best times, synchronize the film with our HD audio recordings, and color correct the film to match the look of your highlight film, creating a seamless viewing experience that you can share with loved ones! Each photo booth package includes a custom made template for your event! We work with you to come up with a design that fits the theme/brand of your event. We offer a number of layouts including the classic 2 x 6” photo strips but also offer 4 x 6” prints with a variety of photo layouts!

After starting the day at RaNew Salon, we were able to have their first look photographed at the elegant and beautiful Salve Regina University! Top 5 Engagement Shoot Locations in Rhode Island

Couples can sometimes get caught up on choosing a location for their engagement shoot (whether you should have an engagement shoot is another blog post for another time, the short answer is, yes.) This blog post compiles of some of our favorite places to date!

When choosing a spot, we like to first defer to the couple as to what they like: nature, the city, their home, etc. Personally, we love nature and we've found that Rhode Island has plenty of versatile spots from the cliffs of Jamestown to the trails of The Audubon Society.
